## Research and field context

- GEOPOLYX® geopolymer mixes use 0% Portland cement.
- Binder systems use alkali activation of aluminosilicate-rich materials such as fly ash and GGBS.
- The research programme began in 2012.
- Field exposure studies include traffic-bearing use, outdoor weathering, wetting-drying and coastal saline placements at Vizhinjam breakwater conditions. These are research evidence, not a commercial durability-testing service.
- Conductive engineered geopolymer composites and triboelectric energy harvesting were M.Tech-stage research directions and are not the core commercial offer.

## Founders

- John Thomas V is Founder of GEOPOLYX®. He leads practical mix delivery, alkali-activated binder advisory, material optimization and implementation support. His recognitions include the NITCP 2019 Award at NITTTR Kolkata, the 2018 Young Innovators Program grant from the Government of Kerala and K-DISC, and the 2024 SIP research grant at NIT Calicut.
- Dr. Thomas John V is Co-Founder and Chief Innovator. He is an engineer, teacher and materials researcher who began geopolymer research during his M.Tech at CUSAT and completed his PhD at CUSAT in 2025. He received the Engineer Awards 2024 recognition for Sustainable and Green Technologies from Vanitha Veedu.
